2011-2012 Bridgestone Winter Driving School Press Kit Information
Thank you for your interest in the Bridgestone Winter Driving School. Located in Steamboat Springs, CO, the Bridgestone Winter Driving School is America’s first and foremost school for teaching safe winter driving techniques.
The Bridgestone Winter Driving School operates seven days a week from mid-December through early March. Half-day, full day, multi-day, corporate and private courses are available. The winter of 2011/12 marks the school’s 29th year of operation. More than 76,000 participants have attended the school since 1983.
The school provides a complete range of winter driving programs for all ability levels, from the permit holder to professional driver. Our experienced driving coaches are professionals who teach the skills and techniques necessary for confident and safe winter driving.
The 77-acre facility includes three purpose-built ice and snow covered tracks designed to challenge all drivers. The tracks are ultra-slippery, coated with more than 250,000 gallons of water. Front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive Toyota vehicles equipped with Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires are used to teach the fundamentals of safe winter driving.
Additionally, our Telly Award-winning high definition DVD, Modern Winter Driving Techniques, can help add a visual element of understanding to the techniques of winter driving, and provide a better feel for our training facility.
The 2011/12 Bridgestone Winter Driving School Press Kit DVD contains the following: letter from school director Mark Cox, course descriptions and pricing, school fact sheet, school press release, available media resources, image library and image use guidelines, winter driving tips, pictorial definitions of oversteer and understeer, and maps to school office and track facility.

“I’m shocked and almost embarrassed that I’ve been driving for so many years and never fully understood the importance of tires or basic driving concepts such as braking, accelerating, understeer, oversteer and weight transfer.”
~ Kristin V., Second Gear graduate
